Words that Haunt Me

September 26, 2017 — Leave a comment

Matthew 18:6-7 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!”

James 3:1 Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

Hebrews 13:17 Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.

Ezekiel 33:6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes… I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood.

I realize that I’m falling in line with countless others who have been talking about Les Misérables, but I don’t care.

My sister-in-law, Demaree Hill, played her on Broadway.

My sister-in-law, Demaree Hill, played her on Broadway.

Sara and I saw Les Mis a few weeks back and we both loved it. I didn’t know a thing about it as I walked into the theater. All I knew was that everybody was saying it was great and that it was a musical.

Going into the movie without any knowledge of the plot was a ton of fun. So don’t worry. I won’t spoil the plot here. But I will tell you just two things about the movie. It has some scenes that definitely include mature content. Yet, I haven’t seen a movie that made me think about my Christian faith in years. Continue Reading…
